Cheesy,
Sour Cream Potatoes: An easy
way to dress up this side dish is by
adding a dollop of sour cream and
a sprinkling
of chopped chives. You'll be surprised
at how it adds a little zip to this already
yummy side dish.
Potatoes Gratin
a la Weiners: Simply slice some
of your favorite "hot dogs" and
toss into the already prepared potatoes
gratin. You might also want to try frying
some Hillshire Farm sausage with onions,
then add to your potatoes. This is an
easy dish your kids and family are
sure to
gobble up!
Chicken/ Potatoes
Gratin Casserole: Prepare potatoes
according to directions and amount of
servings desired. Precook 2 skinless
chicken breasts and chop into bite-sized
chunks.
Set aside. Cook fresh
or frozen broccoli, about two cups (cooked).
Saute about a quarter of an onion with
a tablespoon of butter. Combine chicken,
broccoli and onions. Stir into the already
cooked potatoes. Place in a 9 x 11 casserole
pan. Sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese.
Cook for another 15 minutes in a preheated
375 degree oven. Get your taste buds
ready-you're going to love it.
Shepherd's Pie: Prepare
potatoes according to directions and amount
of servings desired. Brown 1 pound ground
sirloin in a skillet. Remove from pan and
set aside. In the same skillet, sautee
1/2 cup diced onion, add 1 can of drained,
cut green beans and the cooked meat.Pour
in
one 6 ounce can of tomato sauce. Add a
dash of sugar, salt and pepper to taste,
and
cook until it comes to a boil. Pour meat
mixture into a large casserole dish and
top with the potato mixture. Grate at least
a cup or more of cheddar cheese and sprinkle
over top. Cook in a preheated 350
degree oven for about 30 minutes or until
cheese bubbles. Get ready to dig into a
hearty, healthy meal that will satisfy
everyone's
appetite.
Make enough, because your family will surely
ask for "seconds".
